Litmus Test

Filed under: Uncategorized — Alex @ 2:09 pm

Relatively little is happening in the world of Warhammer recently. The majority of people are just going about their business in WAR waiting on the next patch. I’m no different, so I’ve been thinking hard lately on what would be interesting to blog about. I’ve always enjoyed it when bloggers have done side projects, so I pose to you guys a question.

I recently have had an interest in creating a text or PDF document that lists every ability and tactic in a linear readout. As much of a great tool as wardb is, I don’t like reading abilities by hovering my mouse over them. As I am also a mix/maxer, I am a little appalled at my own lack of specific ability knowledge. So, here’s the question. Is there demand out there for a text / PDF of every ability and tactic? If you guys want one, I’ll make it. If it won’t go to use by someone other than me, I won’t bother investing the time that it will take. Let me know your thoughts through the comments. Thanks guys!

  1. Mmm… I happen to be a data junkie. However, it’s the categorization and flexibility that linear output fails at. If you did it in Excel somehow… mmm…

I’m sure I would use it. I did a spreadsheet of all the Lair bosses in the game. It’s on google docs if ya want the link. 🙂

  2. It will be categorized by career of course, and probably by damaging/buffing/healing etc. My main reason for wanting to have it is to have a solid copy in my hand and being able to read down a list of abilities just to learn them.

And yeah, go ahead and shoot the link on over, I’d like to give it a look.

  3. I would definely use a list! I’ve just made some posts on my blog about the amount of damage I have been taking from different abilities, e.g. spirit, corp, etc.

  4. Over at the blurringshock blog, they have put together some interesting pie charts. An excel spreadsheet with abilities already mapped out would be cool…

  5. If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the last year, it’s that if you want to organize info for people to read, do it. Don’t worry so much about the format if it’s not out there already. People will be happy to find it, period. lol

    • Thanks for the insight, Gaarawarr! It’s nice coming from a guru of guides. It seems there’s at least a modicum of interest in this project so I’ll probably get started with it sooner than later.
